@Dracopol Well, there was unprovoked belligerence to non-Muslims right after Mohammad presented the Quran, a quarter century of violent "wars for Islam", but after most Arabs converted the belligerence ended. And regardless of what the Quran still says, you look at Muslim war-making since 700 and it's all territory-based. They won't kill you for being non-Muslim (I used to live among them--and no, not as any Muslim). But if you steal--or "modify" the Quran? Oh yes, they will kill you.

@freddietz96 I would suggest it's a little different. Muslims are not a generic vanilla religion, they want to be the ONLY religion. It is an affront to them that the whole world has not succumbed to this religion. To them, the war has been constant for almost 1,400 years, a state of "permanent spiritual revolution" with similiarities to how the Communists pumped up their own people about the whole world "inevitably" following suit.
