MY VERSION of the Classic HURRICANE SMITH song from 1972. Always a popular song with continued airplay. Hurricane Smith was also know for his other hits, DON'T LET IT DIE and the GILBERT O'SULLIVAN penned WHO WAS IT?. O'Babe, What would you say always evokes the feeling of summer and after 4 decades is being rediscovered by a younger generation.

HURRICANE SMITH was equally famous for engineering the majority of BEATLES songs throughout the 1960's, and the output of the BEATLES material speaks for itself.

JOHN LENNON (who nicknamed Norman Smith as NORMAL NORMAN) persuaded him to record songs on his own, and the above mentioned songs are part of his own output.

MY VERSION is sung in a sort of way like HURRICANE SMITH, but his vocal is unmistakeable, hence MY VERSION is a little 'Softer'. I hope you enjoy my hommage to a great artist who gave us fantastic songs to remember.

  • Very taste fully done. Did you do the sax too? I do this as a sax instrumental. This song always brings back good memories for people and it is always good to forget todays problems even if its just for a few minutes.

  • @bigalinwesttexas Hi, Many thanks for your nice comment. No, regrettably, I am unable to play any instruments, maybe left it too late to learn! Yeah, its a great little tune, that can enable one to escape to problems of today, totally agree. Yourself, I presume, from Texas, my Favorite Artist comes from your way. Mr Boz Scaggs. Maybe you wish to check out my 'Boz' Song Called 'Sierra' on my channel. Once again many thanks for dropping by

  • you give this type of music a modern sound with your voice which I consider excellent.

  • @Mrarguett Hi, firstly, let me apologise for a delay in my thanking you for you kind comment on my video 'Oh Babe, What would you say'. I made this video and since that time has become a favourite of my elderly mom. The original has always been a great favourite of mine, and I had always wanted to cover it in some form. Thanking you for your comments once again
