Great interview and program concept! Lots of great information! I would have like to hear a bit more about the Prestige basses. Wow -- Gary is Satch's luth; does this make him "greatest living luthier"? Well, just maybe! What a great guy.
@AirgunAddict256 Sorry, I don't know about that. The only thing that I tried to clear out for you is that a solid, heavy guitar doesn't necessarely mean more tone. And I know that because I'm into guitar building :).
@AirgunAddict256 It's all down to the construction and quality of the wood. For example a chambered body can sound huge because of the increased internal resonance that the chambering creates :).
@AnathemusVideos yeah, i love Ibanez to death, but the entire S series is a joke to me. not so much their playability or anything like that, but the fact that they way a quarter of a pound... they weigh NOTHING, and when i picked one up i was afraid it would shatter if i dropped it. the neck weighs more than the body, no joke.
how do you expect to get any tone out of a guitar that has practically no wood on it?
the ibanez s prestige is by far the most disgusting move a guitar company has made in years. the whole series is a gimmick and anyone who plays one music play a very specific style of music that is not riding the spectrum of the universe. i played this guitar the other day and literally had never been so miserable with an instrument in a long time. the guitar should cost 500 dollars at most because everything it attempts to do it fails at. however the rg1500 surprisingly was out of this world
