http://www.DadLabs.com - In this episode of Quality Time, Daddy Brad meets with hair stylist Brandy Sheriff from Finley's Barber Shop to discuss getting your kid's first haircut. With all the combs and scissors and strange chairs, the first haircut can be a scary event for your kids. Make sure you take them to a good hair salon or barbershop and introduce them to your stylist. Pick a good hair style and let the captains of cosmetology work their magic. While at the hair salon make sure that you let the stylist work on your kids hair styles, and try not to interfere with the haircut process. Whether it's a boys haircut or a girls haircut, long hair or curly hair, find a good stylist that will make your kid feel comfortable during their first haircut. Quality Time ep 537 is brought to you by BabyBjorn Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • all great advice... whether you take them to a barber or do it at home.

Clippers can be noisy, so I also make sure to use quiet ones at home... at the barber, I bring ear plugs in my purse for my son who has aspergers and is more sensitive to the noise than his brother, who no longer cares... but this is also great for toddlers who have never heard the noise before... then they aren't as scared.

and then showing them that the clippers don't hurt by letting them feel the vibration on their arm.

  • Great suggestions, as always!

  • @Sbrandy32 what

  • wow my mom did mine when I was a kid and would tell me to stay still so she dusnt cut my ear. O.O ...... wow now that I look at it, that is some bad freaking parenting.

  • Yes, I did...Texans make up our own words..hahahaha

  • I remember the time when we took my baby sister to get her first hair cut. It was a terrible experience for her n for my mom. She was screaming and yelling pushing the tools away from her hair. Made big scene. She was only 2 years old at that time.

  • Did she say interreact?
