For many of the faithful, the idea smacks of heresy. But the Bible we know is just one of many versions that surely circulated in the early days of Christianity. Even fully-fledged books were left out of the "final draft."

In this single collection, THE HISTORY CHANNEL® has gathered a definitive survey of these "extracanonical" texts. Learn of their creation alongside - or even before - the more accepted books of the Bible we know today. Discover their messages and what we can conclude about the early Church from their exclusion. And see the lengths to which ancient editors went to hide them and to which modern scholars have gone to uncover them.

This documentary series comprises over three hours of eye-opening information that vastly expands our knowledge of the Bible's creation.

  • @02kazak and lo, Billy was his first name...

  • @hddragracer1 LOL!

  • @SADDAMNYOUALL

    who is joel?

  • "In muy name, conquer?" That doesn't sound like something the Jesus of the Bible would say. "Pray to the Father, in my name." Yes. But "conquer?" I doubt it. And besides, we've all read about Constantine as well as King James and Francis Bacon. The Hebrew Bible was destroyed in 70ad anyway. So the book we have today, is hardly the "inerrant word of God." There are "errors" and contradictions all through that book.

  • @SADDAMNYOUALL That, my "expert" friend, would be Joel's fault. Not the Bible's. Or "other Christians." For someone who wasn't even born until the age of disco, we should all listen to your obvious wisdom. right....
