After a heavy mechanical rebuild, during which wheels were replaced, new draw bars installed, air dates done (COT&S), tags applied, all moving parts lubed and cell phone security and car-tracing device installed, the car left Kansas City with CN 6-6-4 Greenbank. Here it is en route to its new home for further restoration. The car will be for private use and occasional use for special events on a tourist railroad in the future. Don't let the silver and black Cotton Belt colors fool you; this is a coach from the famous Phoebe Snow of the Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad. The car was in service from New York Terminal (Hoboken, NJ) to Chicago, via the DL&W-Nickel Plate Road corridor, later used on the Erie-Lackawanna Hoboken-Chicago corridor.
Very cool video!
