Yeah I've been trying to find out alot about the device. It is 512mb ram but it's locked at 800mhz. There's not enough information from the company such as software development tools or drivers for hackers to easily make the tablet better. This tablet would be perfect if only the company released the source code for their tablet so we can make custom roms. E-ink is great for reading and the tablet is strong enough for basic use. Android is supposed to be open source, they need to release code!

ok im not sure what to do...im going to buy this for my mom for christmas, but im not sure...what to expect i heard that you have to bypass something when you first get it...can you make a tutorial or tell me what i should expect???

How much ram does this have?
1.2 ghz cpu is impressive though.
Sad nobody hacked this device to have gingerbread or mabe even ice cream sandwich. Very interesting device.

@Tinhh It has 512mb of ram unless im mistaken. I'm hoping newer OS updates get hacked for it. But for now, you can go to the link on my other comment I just posted that details and easy method of getting Google Apps and the market place working! :D

Get the rom files here
dustyfeetDOTcom/edge/
You want the file "p-update.zip.ermine-0.9.zip"
Then follow these instructions:
1. Download the file and rename it to update.zip
2. place the file in the root of a FAT32 USB flash drive (I think a SD card will work too)
3. With the Edge off and the flash drive plugged in, hold down the MENU and ROTATE buttons.
4. Power on the Edge while continuing to hold Menu and ROTATE for 10 seconds.

@ressedue 5. Within 1 minute the Edge should start upgrading, the process will take a while, ~10 minutes, keep it plugged in.
6. The Edge will reboot when it is done.
