The Black Ensemble Theater has announced casting for Jackie Taylor's The Other Cinderella, which will begin previews October 16 in anticipation of an official opening on October 24. Taylor will co-direct the production with Rueben Echoles, who will choreograph and appear in the production.

The show re-imagines the traditional Cinderella fairy tale, infusing it with new twists and characters. The company will feature Candace Edwards in the title role and Deja Taylor as The Fairy God Mama, along with Rhonda Preston, Katrina Miller, Robin Beaman, Trinity Murdock, Noreen Stark, Lawrence Williams, Michael Bartlett, Mandy Lewis, Daniel DK Simms Joshua N. Banks, Christina Cain, and Nyina Coleman.

The creative team will include Carl Ulaszek (scenic design), Denise Karczewski (lighting design), and Robert Reddrick (music direction). Author/director Taylor will provide the costume designs.
