VG Troubadour: Mirrors Edge Story Review [Part 1 of 3]

In a new series of videos, The Jonin Monkey evaluates the storylines of video games and tries to find the best and the worst in the hope that someday video game narrative will be taken seriously and will evolve to the next level.

Obviously I'm new to the world of video reviews so any feeback (but preferably constructive) will be very helpfull.

P.S. The reason I say 'hello again' at the start of this video is because this was meant to be my second review, but the footage for the first reveiw somehow deleted itself from my harddrive, so I had to start with this instead.

Did you even play the game? They tell you in the beginning how everything came to be, why there are runners, who they are, and what they do.

While I'm glad you did a story review, you don't really seem to have anything positive to say about the game. And you do realize that Avian Flu could (the strain) could return, right? So it doesn't matter if it's no long relevant right now. I'm not liking your review. You're very sarcastic and negative.

Yes Faith explains a little of the details at the begining of the game, but not very well. We know that the runners are helping clients, but neither side is given a clear motive and how they atagonise each other isn't explained very well either, so it's hard to believe in Faith's cause and that's what keeps it from being a good story in my opinion.

Also there was no need for the Avian Flu reference at all. It was a cheap reference to news stories at the time and had no effect on the story

r they making a sequel? I got the demo for this game and I'ed say its pritty good. lol its unique

Ok, I'll grant you this wasn't my best review, and I was kind of making the negitive points seem a bigger deal than they actually were.

However, I do mention some possitive points towards the end (Merc's death and the climax) and I still beleive my points stand.

As far as I'm concerned, ME is wasted potenial; I really wanted to like the game, but the concept has not been fleashed out enough to make it a great story.
