@GuitarGage870 Do you seriously think that a rape victim would be solaced by marriage to the rapist? Do you imagine that he would treat her well? Far from being a shining example of morality, you demonstrate a loathsome lack of understanding.
-
@LPDC73 As such, the rapist was compelled to provide for the rape victim for as long as he lived. Thus, far from barbaric, the law was a cultural means of protection and provision.
-
@LPDC73 First, the Mosaic Law is hardly about letting a rapist off easy. The consequence for raping a woman engaged to be married was stoning (Deuteronomy 22:25). If the woman was not engaged, the rapist was spared for the sake of the woman’s security. Having lost her virginity, she would have been deemed undesirable for marriage—and in the culture of the day, a woman without a father or husband to provide for her would be subject to a life of abject poverty, destitution, and social ostracism.

@LPDC73 Hares do eat there own dung (which I know isn't cud), but it is not just "dung" that the hares are eating, which is probably why the Hebrew word for "dung" was not used. As the Bible was written so long ago, there was still much that was not known about some animals. This could just be a mis-translation, as the Bible has been translated so many times. The true reason the hare was considered "unclean" in the Bible was because it ate its own fecal matter.

At one point in this video it is said that there is no controversy, which would be slightly agreeable if a 10 minute long video wasn't made rebutting a debate that apparently isn't plausible.
Also where are their examples? There are many examples of failures in the system of evolution, and creationism is sound if only people would take time to really study it, and realize that even without the religious part of it, there still would have to be a creator and that the evolutionary standpoint is c

@Uenbg The illusion of knowledge refers to unverified pieces of bullshit statements that you're spouting just because someone or something has caused you to think it's true because you hope it's true - like creationism.
You should re-read the bible and try looking at thing from a metaphorical perspective, you know the traditions and culture from which the good book was written to begin with.
Moses would turn around in his grave if he saw how amazingly stupid the modern day interpretations are.

Why do people even bother with debating with creationists? I mean why on earth would you ever try to reason with psychologically demented people?

Excerpt from Judge Jones Kitzmiller v. Dover Case (Intelligent Design on Trial)
ID's backers have sought to avoid the scientific scrutiny which we have now determined that it cannot withstand by advocating that the controversy, but not ID itself, should be taught in science class. This tactic is at best disingenuous, and at worst a canard. The goal of the IDM is not to encourage critical thought, but to foment a revolution which would supplant evolutionary theory with ID.

where were trying to keep science and math education on the cutting edge in the United States, to introduce and teach bad science to ninth-grade students makes very little sense to me. You know, garbage in garbage out. And it doesn't benefit any of us who benefit daily from scientific discoveries.
ID is NOT science! The central idea of biological evolution is that all life on Earth shares a common ancestor, a much more eloquent explanation to me, then "god did it".

@Uenbg BTW Intelligent Design had its day in court during the Kitzmiller v. Dover School District trial. Presiding was a Republican Judge John E. Jones, II who had been recommended for his position on the bench by Senator Santorum and appointed by George W. Bush. Both pro-intelligent design proponents. The 139-page opinion ruled that intelligent design is not science.

@killakm93 Reality check: scientists aren't big on spending time hammering out the finer details of faith. You don't need faith when you have a preponderance of factual information painting an incredibly clear tableau. Just because you don't understand this vast database of logically consistent evidence does not make it faith. I'm sure it seems like faith when you absolutely refuse to learn any of these facts.

Very good video. The last guy makes a very important remark regarding the gap between scientists and what people believe. Scientists are there to educate people on scientific matters, it is rather terrifying that people with no knowledge of the area or qualifications are allowed to swat these conclusions that took years to come to because 'it says so in their book'.
