Catz 'n' Dogz - Escape from Zoo

The Polish duo reveal all about their genre-hopping album, Escape From Zoo...

When EQTV spoke to Claude VonStroke earlier this year about his labels Dirtybird and Mothership, he was effusive to say the least about the album from Polish duo Catz'n'Dogz. Grzegorz Demiañczuk and Wojciech Tarañczuk (or Greg and Voitek for short) had already released their debut album Stars Of Zoo on Mothership back in 2008, but Barclay was unstoppable in his praise for the follow-up, Escape From Zoo. His enthusiasm was justified. Here's an album by two producers who aren't afraid to take risks, and one which hops genres with every track. You might not like it all -- techno fans might frown upon the foray into R&B -- but there's no denying the talent on display here. With collaborations from dOP, Mr VonStroke himself, and Jazzanova's vocalist Paul Randolph, this is music that dares to be different -- and we love it. So here are Greg and Voitek giving us the lowdown on their musical philosophy.
