I used to visit Fricks Lock Village, saw deer that were tame there, It was a beautiful
ghost town with manicured lawn and all, Incredibly Errie and Serene. I remember the
one house you could enter thru a basement window and I ascended to the 3rd floor
where must have lived a Porcupine or Giant Coon because the steps just below reaching
the level 3rd floor room were piled with old dried shit.
Some fucking asshole burned the building down a year or so ago.

@GaryALucas Reminds me of the famous TNT area in Point Pleasant, WV where the notorious Mothman was sighted. They tested bombs there and had many bunkers and buildings, None of which were torn down. Like I said, too expensive.

Lots of this in the Chicago area also. Places that are too expensive to build up or tear down. Fascinating nonetheless.

Truman's theme song!!! right??
-
they will never put it out. They did a study and the cost is too great so Gov. Tom Corbett Ordered all residents out, the state bought out the homeowners and now the PA State Troopers patrol the area to make sure noone gets in but as you see people still come there. Centralia is the town for which the game Silent Hill is based.

@jimmycjc2 Because congress along with the corporate whores shipped most of the manufacturing jobs to countries where there labor force could be exploited and environmental laws non existent so as they destroyed the areas surrounding the plants they would not have to spare precious profits to rehabilitate those areas. I mean, why would you want cancer causing toxins in your own back yard when you could spill it all over a poor nation and laugh until you choked on your $300.00 cigar.

could anyone why these places were abandoned?

I'm a jazz/ fusion drummer/ pianist, myself. But who are you to be saying what is real music and what is not. Music is everything an everywhere. Car hors, forks on a glass, sneezing... it is everywhere.
@spacelizardlaw It's a poor version of the 1st movement of the Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor Op. 27, No. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven, it's also known as the Moonlight Sonata, from 1801! It's real Music, unlike the noises by Justin/Gaga and all the other scum.
