Here is some great footage of multiple pods of humpback whales breaching and playing right outside the door of our Oceans Edge Vacation Rental at Hali'i Kai in the Waikoloa Beach Resort. The Hawaiian Humpback Whale ("Kohala") begin arriving in Hawaii in November, with the peak of migration and activity occurring in February and March. Most whales remain in Hawaii for 6-8 weeks, with some extending their vacation to late May of early June. At the end of their time in HawaiI, the whales return to the food-rich waters of Alaska to feed and replenish their blubber in preparation for their next journey to Hawaii. If you are looking for the perfect place to view Humpback Whales on the Big Island of Hawai'i, come and stay at Oceans Edge Vacation Rental at Hali'i Kai.
