CSE latest film shows the relationship between rich man's shit and poor man's water. And it is funny. For inquiries contact cse at cseindia (dot) org.
Also check out our publication on the strategies adopted to clean up the Yamuna, one of India's holiest (and dirtiest) rivers.

  • Well the shit passes through the sewage which is the drainage which eventually joins a sea and sea joins the ocean. At least this is how my shit passes everyday in Bombay. Not sure about the Yamuna.

In Bombay we get water from lakes i.e. Vihar lake and also Tulsi Lake. The lake is safeguarded by the IFS as it is part of the forest. So I am pretty sure they would even try and shoot down a bird if it shat in the Lake :P . And the water is desalinated which also includes purification to some extent

  • @rainermarius actually its not a complicated procedure and scientists are not spending too much time on working it out lol! Ever heard of CNG?? Let me spell it out: Compressed natural gas, your shit being the 'natural'. That guy was probably the only intelligent person in the clip and also probably with the lowest level of education. Its kind of humiliating when the uneducated 'brown Indian' knows more about science than you isn't it?

  • When feces decompose methane gas is created (gobar gas). Manure from farm animals can be a sustainable source of methane gas and it can indeed be used to create other energy, for cooking, for operating machinery, etc. Entire energy plants are being developed, run by gobar. The man you quoted knew of what he spoke, unfortunately you did not...

  • it goes back to the owner, nice

  • poop stinskl

  • Intelligence of the brown people...

  • it's an eye-opener, and the premise of george carlin's great act; the fecal differencial.

  • Try Ecosan as a solution. Great video.

  • Fascinating!

We need to get serious about our water supply. I'm gonna do more readings on this.

  • india is supposedly an economic powerhouse but the water and sewage lacks the same extent
