Thank you! I have been humming this song in my head for 50 years! Could never find it, but knew it was early caravans because Iwas achild when I heard it.

Oh Gloria Griffin is here. But you again need a different pic.
Try the pic of the song He'll be Right There
-
Oh you forgot Louise MacDowell
She's probably the least popular Caravans
-
Louise MacDowell, next to Johneron

Put it through your best speakers and see if you can distinguish Gloria's voice. I'm almost certain I hear her, though I could be wrong.

Okay...I'm not sure of the lineup in this song anymore. I think I hear Gloria Griffin as well as Johneron Davis. I do not think Ora Lee Hopkins and Nellie Grace Daniels are in the recording.

Yes!!!! I believe Gloria and Albertina are splitting the lower lines, with Gloria singing the lowest line. This recording makes me want to do the "happy dance", most especially when Albertina wails "Aaaaaaaaall other....". Gloria is also esp. audible on "But wholly lean..." and "All other grounououound" LOL! Must've been recorded around the time of that photo with Gloria pictured, though I'm certain I don't hear Bessie.

Rev. James Cleveland was such a soulful narrator. Truly in the vanguard. Wonderful classic post.

Of all the hymns the Caravans sung, this is my favorite, cause there is a special level of anointing on this song, and its is evidenced by Albertina Walker at the end when she gets caught up in da song and says "Oh Lord", in just that phrase I heard a testimony all by itself!
