  • @ThamMalaysia

We use a 1470 nm diod laser system. The mean of the procedure ist NOT to cut the tissue (like a Co2 or Nd-Yag Laser), but reduce the hemorrhoidal tissue from inside.

  • how long does this surgery take? and are u numbed out through it?

  • @freikendude

The average operation time is 17 min and is performed under regional anaesthesia.

  • NOT new! I had this performed 16 years ago! Not fun, but MUCH better than traditional scalpel surgery.

  • @tripjet999

16 years ago special shaped radial fibers didn't exist. So, how was it performed?

  • so after the surgery, how long will it be before a patient is able to go to the bathroom normally?

  • @imcrazyforwar

The pain sensation is very low, usually after 1 week there are no complaints anymore.

  • does this hurt??

  • I have weird hemmeroids because its like vericose veins, not bumps and they're outside the anus ,not inside. the veins keep braking every morning. What can I do?

  • I should have chosen the harmonic scalpel or Ligasure that time,

or better still, the Starion device.

  • The new fad in Malaysia is the staple, which I had done, but which was

hopeless. One of the hemorrhoids was too large to be grabbed by the

staple, and he cut it with diathermy. I had pencil-thin stools for two months,

fecal impaction twice, and extreme discomfort. Bled horribly the first two days.

It was done in December 2003.

Relapsed after just two years. Another surgeon some time ago told

me it appears to be an external one this time.

  • Hi, is this a updated procedure using a newer laser device,

compared to the old Nd-YaG or Co2 lasers ?

Hardly any surgeon seems to have used the laser in Malaysia
