Just go to any retail store and try to find anything NOT made in China or somewhere else, it's almost impossible. Everything is made somewhere else, and all for profit and that's all it's about.

Even cars "Made in the USA" are 80% parts made in other countries. You can restrict Chinese imports, but then China would retaliate and restrict shipments of critical parts or heighten the price of critical parts to break even. China has more of a diverse Labor force, from dirt cheap labor to PHD labor and they have 1.5 Billion people versus 300,000,000. We are not getting those Factory jobs back, we need to create new Industries for our more educated work force.

The Chinese wage is $1.18 per hour (watch?v=T5_TQPZwo2o). Wage here would be minimum $7.75 per hour that's 7x more. We can bring the Factories back, but Construction wages would be another 10x more, then the Environmental regulations another 10x more.  Even if we never imported anything from China along every Production Chain it would be 10x more, by the time you are done the iPad would be $5000+ a piece instead of $500, an HDTV $10,000+ instead of $1000.

Better for USA labor to make more by keeping jobs in the USA & pay more for iPads than lose jobs, make less or nothing if you lost a job to overseas & are unemployed/can't buy. Also, corporations move labor overseas so THEY make more profit, not to save consumers money. If USA government put a stop to excessive Chinese imports and eliminated our trade deficit do you think those solar panel factories would have gone bankrupt? This is something Obama needs to work on more but we know Romney won't.
