Yes, do not paint the tension rods. Haha I was just messing around and I sold the kit the next day but anyway this was just a fun little "experiment" so dont be judgemental.

  • @wipezama correct

  • @Mart1nwalker it really doesn't matter if I did this to a drumset. I sold it the next day and got a whole new kit. So get over it.

  • @dirtbikesareawsome9 watch my second video to see how it looks.

  • I know it's not the most "professional" way. I totally get that, but the main point of this video was simply to do it very cheap and without using expensive and time consuming equipment. It's just a little home project. It still looks awesome and holds up pretty decently. Just don't paint the lugs cause the paint particles are too big :p

  • @maikweinhardt it's permanent. I'm not totally sure what you're asking though?

  • @Ars0nist87 that's why I taped off the screws so the paint wouldn't get into the part that you screw into. If you just straight paint the whole lug and try to screw it in, it won't work. So don't paint the part that screws into, only paint what shows.

  • its pearl forum series?

  • of mice and men in the background!!!

  • I also paint the hardware of all drums painted black, but over time the paint started to fall, I think it's best painting "powder coat", but you proved to yourself that this is not the paint falls of your hardware? as "skilletstix"

  • OM&M

  • Of mice and men, is what you listening? :D

  • Hello! I want to paint my drum hoops. Do you know if i need an special paint?? Or i could paint directly on the chrome?? Thanks!!

  • 2nd advise for whom about to try this...

when you apply clean coat spray. do it layer by layer. take you time

after shaking your clean coat spray paint, your first layer of clear coat shouldn't be

so shiny. let your first layer dried out. then do it your 2nd layer. about 3rd layer, your drum

starts shine. Remember, Do Not Spay thickly at once. you will end up having tear effect or

    the melting looking ..

  • Just for another Tip for whom about to do this.

make sure you shake the any unpopular color and the clear coat spray pait very well.

Very important. Shake them well as the discription on the can.
