  • @TacoExecutive

I obviously meant to write per second.

  • @chrthiel Your count is WRONG.

  • The sea just shit it,s self

  • Breda is built by oto melara of Italy. This is the 'slow' version. The fast 40 can fire twice as fast, 450 rpm per barrel.

  • In the Argentinian Navy the Breda Bofors 40 mm (twin) is mounting in all the corvettes (MEKO 140 and A69 class) and the four frigates MEKO 360 (four in each ship). They should get the all-target ammunition 3P of 40 mm. The Breda bofors with this ammunition will be quite good againt missiles, small boats and aircraft much further away the CIWS, wich only are good against missiles in very short range. Even that a CIWS like a Goalkeeper is more expensive than a Breda Bofors twin gun.

  • You don't want to mess with this 40mm!

  • These 40mm L70s can do 300 RPM or if in a rapid fire configuration 450 RPM per gun. The 57mm gun is ~220 RPM with the 76mm gun capable of around 120 RPM

  • Swedish enginering for ya ^^ Bofors L-70

  • If my count is right, it's going at about 10 rounds per minute.

  • 5 rounds per second iirc for the 2 barrel cannon. The 57mm is good for over 3 rps, the 76mm 2 rps.
