Yes. The performance was released on a Chandos CD in 1989, with works for string orchestra by Bloch (Concerto Grosso No.1), Barber (Adagio for Strings Op.11), Grieg (Holberg Suite Op.40), and Puccini (Crisantemi). This CD is still available on Amazon, notably.

This is an uncommonly good performance of this work, a work which I am quite familiar with.

Please tell us what chamber orchestra is performing, and also the name of the

conductor. And thank you for posting this.

On the video, the work is performed by the Israel Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Yoav Talmi (on the piano: Irit Rob). Greetings.

Well,it's a bit slower and heavier than my ideal, but in compensation, the rich tone and large phrasing more than make up, giving a warm glow, especially in "Dirge." Fine playing thruout.

Wonderful performance of a childhood favorite piece of mine which I still love. My parents owned the old Chicago Symphony recording with Kubelik conducting. I think I wore it out.

It is a trifle slower than one would normally hear it, but I will never complain about a performance for that reason - actually, it is very good, and I would actually choose to

get used to it at this tempo - it works beautifully.

This is Bloch's most ingratiating piece, deserving popularity far more than Schelomo. It directly speaks to the listener, not on any ethnic or religious factors, but directly from the

music itself. The final fugal movement is veru successful as a summing up.

Extraordinary, indeed. This is the result of blending together Jews and Gentiles and taking the significant decision to return back to the Land of the Jews with all these treasures. The pieces of landscape in the video as if were born together with the music from the very beginning. Bravo!!
