Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
Anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their
Home, and I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
(But then a strange fear gripped me and I
Just couldn't ask)

Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one,
I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Twat???? Thats Alain Whyte, one of the best and most underated guitarists and songwriters from the last 20 years.

If you was in Morrisseys band you would smirk too..

What do you want a guitarist to do...Stand like a statue?....

  • @thongrrr Speaking as a musician and a fan of both the Smiths and Morrissey and as myself i can probably say im not far off in my summation. But ofc i could be wrong.Regardless the performance is needlessly sloppy and one has to wonder why.

  • why are people on here slagging alan whyte??!! he's made some brilliant tunes for mozza and he's actually a really nice down to earth person .

  • @willnewlove1 why you calling him a twat? , fucking idiot

  • @MrAzdaz you really believe to be as knowledgeable to criticize that performance on a musical matter, i have meet a lot of people like you, believing they are such experts, but your opinion just sucks, first if the man hates mar why on earth would he sing that song, i know they don't even talk to each other but they still respect some opinions they have, mostly on politics, but of course you just read an article so you think to know everything, what a jerk, and i state this is my opinion

  • @MrAzdaz Bollocks.

  • Poorly rehearsed and badly played.and from the way Morrissey sings it,s clear that he still holds a grudge against Mar.He literally wants the song to fail. The synth is turned down and it sounds awful "rocked up"Dont get me wrong his backing band are excellent at playing songs that charge ahead like a ten ton freighter bent on destruction but subtlety is not their strong point. Its like he says play it as crappy as possible.Stop being a sad middle aged man full of bitterness.Or reform the smiths.

  • Alan whyte, so "cheesy" his little rockin from side to side, looks like he is playing in a band that are resident in " Butlins holiday camp"

  • To die by your side........XXX.

  • @tugboat25 I know, what the fuk was he thinking?
