OK, so basically this is a type of "raised bed" garden, where the rocks/bricks/stones around the outer rim keep the topsoil/compost from washing away in the heavy rains.
Interesting is the idea of the compost pile being in the center of the garden, rather than in a separate area like many of us do here in the United States. Cool.
