http://CookingThaiFood.com Thai drink Recipe Video: How to Make Thai Iced Tea Recipe The is a recipe for a restaurant style Thai drink, Thai Ice Tea. Also referred to as Thai Iced Tea, Cha Yen or just Thai Tea. Another variation is called Cha Chak or Cha Chuk and it uses both un-sweetened evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk. Cha Chak is vigorously mixed before serving with the sweetened condensed milk being used as the sweetener instead of sugar being added to the brewed tea as in this restaurant style version.

Watch in HD!!! Largest Market in Thailand that covers 35 acres which sits in the Bangkok metropolitan area. It contains upwards of 5,000 stalls and this is just one of them where these guys make great Thai iced tea...
*edit
In Malaysia its called Teh Tarik. I have been getting various emails from different people stating this practice of making tea like this is actually from Malaysia. Many locals when I visited this market just stated it was Thai iced tea, I appreciate everyone's feedback on this

  • i noticed the wing wa price label on the tea bag ... Wing Wa Supermarket Sac, CA????

  • @billyher1984 Good eye! Yes, we got that at the famous Wing Wa Asian grocery store in Sacramento, California. Wing Wa has got to be the largest Asian grocery this side of the Pacific!

  • What is the best milk for this? Condensed, evaporated, or half & half milk?

  • @xclusiveplayer We use evaporated milk that is not sweetened. The sugar mixed in the boiling water with the tea leaves in this recipe provides enough sweetness, so condensed milk which is usually sweetened, would not be good. Sweetened condensed milk is used in another type of sweet milkyThai tea (Cha Chak) where sugar is not used. Half & half should work well, but we haven't tried it yet. We will soon.

  • This is Awesome i always wanted to know how to make this :))

i Have to Sub to your channel i Love Thai Food ;)

Had a Quick Questions Would my Green Tea Bags be the Same if Not Where can i Get this Tea at?? :D

  • @Coolycoolycosmo Thanks for subscribing! No, green tea bags wouldn't turn out like this. In fact, we've tried many, many different tea mixes that said "Thai Tea" both in America and Thailand but none has ended up as this good "restaurant style" Thai iced tea, except for the specific brand, "Pantainorasingh" seen in the video. You have to search the Asian markets because not everyone will stock this brand. Good Luck!
