This was built in 1 month.
I show the Z axis working, but I never mounted it onto the Pen component due to torque issues.

This device is controlled by joystick motion.

The web tutorial on instructables shows how to fully build this. If you have any questions ask away.

  • toio bad you didn't write a program to draw something rich in color and detail and, well, ot looking so much like crap :P

  • It's not designed for that... and please, if you are going to comment, try and patch together coherent English sentences.

  • Very cool! You can easily add a feature to draw from HPGL files, too.

  • Umm... what's the point, printers are a lot faster. Plus I have to agree with ayeroxor, this isn't that great since it cant make pictures in color or in good quality/detail.

  • YOUR A GENIUS. THIS SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE MANUFACTURED. on a more serious caps-lock-less note i would love one of these.

  • nice

  • Etch-a-Sketch anyone?

  • Looks like good work in progress. Keep it up... I look forward to seeing how it comes along.
