"Splendid Wood" by Jennifer Higdon (part 1)

This is our performance on our PASIC 2010 Showcase Concert as one of the winners of the PAS International Percussion Ensemble competition.

"Splendid Wood" is one of the most popular keyboard ensemble pieces being performed around the world. While also one of the most difficult, the piece offers a wide variety of orchestrational colors created by Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Jennifer Higdon. Her originality come through with the thick textures, thematic and rhythmic elements. Higdon constantly uses all six players as one, while also giving duet and trio opportunities to bring forth important contrapuntal lines.
