The Grapefruit Diet


This diet is given to heart patients who need to quickly loose weight for bypass surgery.

In 2 months you should loose 52 pounds with this diet, 12 days on diet, 2 days off diet;

depending on your weight. Breakfast
Grapefruit or 4 oz. Unsweetened Grapefruit Juice

2 Lg. Eggs, Any style

2 Slices of Bacon, cooked medium




Lunch
Grapefruit or 4 oz. Unsweetened Grapefruit Juice

Salad, any type of dressing, any size

Meat, any type, any amount




Dinner

Grapefruit or 4 oz. Unsweetened Grapefruit Juice

Meat, any type, any amount

Vegetable, any red or green vegetable, cooked with any seasonings (or a salad)

Coffee or Tea, 1 cup




Snack
Glass of Tomato Juice or Skim Milk with sweetener




Instructions
1. At any meal, you can eat until you are full or cannot eat any more.

2. Don't eliminate anything from the diet. Especially don't skip the bacon or omit the salads. It is the combination of these foods that make the diet work.

3. The grapefruit is important because it acts as a catalyst that starts the burning process.

4. Cut down on all caffeine consumption, it affects the insulin balance that helps the fat burning process (1 cup daily).

5. Do not eat in between meals. If you eat the combination of foods above you will not get hungry.

6. Do not eat desserts, breads, white vegetables or sweet potatoes. You may choose to double or triple your helping of meat, salad, and vegetables. Eat until you are full.

The more you eat the proper combination of foods, the more you will loose.

7. You can loose 18 pounds in 18 days with this diet. There will be no loss for the first 4 days. You should loose 5 pounds on the 5th day. After that you should loose 1 pounds every 2 days until you are at your desired weight.

8. Drink as much water as you like.

9. All soft drinks need to be diet and caffeine free.

10. You may not have white onions, potatoes or celery.

11. You may have red onions, bell peppers, radishes, cucumbers, broccoli, spinach, lettuces, cabbage,

carrots and tomatoes.

  • I started the diet last Tues, so I am on day 9. I went to weight class today and lost 11lbs since last week's weigh in. I feel real good about it. What are some of the type of salads did you use? I don't want to get bored with salads.

  • @tiymekai well it depends, you don't want to eat starchy salads such as (pasta salad's, potato salads and such) its good to use spinach lettuce with any choice of meat, if you get bored by you some frozen steam veggies (that you could make in the microwave) its really good...anything green would be nice, i eat one can of spinach every day its not that bad

  • hey ummm can u please post the rest of the meal plan for the other days not just 1 day or do i have to eat the same thing everyday?

  • @08babymonster you don't necessarily have to eat the same thing everyday, for example you could switch up the lunch (chicken breast) with fish, but yeah if you are new to this diet then follow exactly what it says for 12 days trust me it works

    Is it because I'm not eating the bacon in the mornings? And yeah am I allowed to eat a slice of pizza with my lunch?

  • @ayeshaghanty yes ur suppose to eat bacon in the morning , and no u can't eat pizza, eat a large salad with chicken breast and a large glass/bottle of water, trust me it'll fill you up

    I really want to do this diet but i'm a vegatarian, will that ruin the diet?

    Do you have any suggestions on what i can eat instead of bacon in the morning or meat at supper & lunch?

  • I've seen this new eating regimen called DietOramy (find on google) - my grandmother said she begun using it and already shed several lbs, without feeling famished or weary in any way... what do you think, has any1 used it however?

  • I am not informed about others but I can tell you that my family made superior triumph with DietOramy diet program (google it, there are a lot data regarding it) - all of us work with it and our docs are pleasantly shocked with the final results which came so rapidly.

  • On my eleventh day and have lost around 4 lbs. but still very happy....something is better than nothing...thanks...will try for 21 days...
