Introducing some behind the scenes work on my animation with the working title 'Escape' which I hope to enter in the 2011 Sydney Opera House Animation competition.
In this video I show you how I begin creating a flash custom background with Koolmoves for use with GoAnimate and I demonstrate how to add some simple animation to the background.
@TheKobbin - Thanks for your comment. I actually do animate with flash and other software not just GoAnimate. This particular cartoon has a very tight deadline. There's no way I could animate it all myself in time.
For the record though, you can import 100% hand drawn animation into GoAnimate and then take advantage of all their other film making tools.

This is great, man. I wish you the best of luck with what you're doing. Although, if it hasn't been suggested yet, you should try out Flash on its own to animate, rather than taking advantage of GoAnimate. The best looking animations are ones that have each frame drawn separate, as they convey emotions fantastically and allow for a lot more exaggeration in the cartoon, which is essential. Example, most cartoons before the 90s were drawn frame by frame, the hard way, and you can really tell.
