peaceful protests will always be ignored? Ghandi, MLK, womans rights are all examples of peaceful protest that worked. while you get more attention with violence it is rarely positive. the biggest part of todays protesters that bothers me is the fact most of them couldnt tell me how the global economys expantion of the WTO is going to hurt the US or the average worker in our country or the next. they dont know the issue they fight for they simply think "FIGHT THE MAN"

Ghandi and MLK Jr led peaceful protests, obviously; but their movements were not without acts of vioence by both the police and resistors. As for breaking the law, these people are only breaking "civilized" law which is by nature arbitrary and fallable. It doesn't not take much time to look this over and see that the police are unquestionably using brutality.

Have you been to a third world country? have you seen desperate 5 year old children try hopelessly to earn enough for one meal a day? There is enough money in this world to stop that, the only people not letting it happen are groups like the WTO

The cops and the WTO did a lot more to fuck up our city. Have you ever seen 4 year old kids with broken arms and burned eyes? I have. there is plenty of money in this world, enough to help them. But the only people standing in the way of helping them are groups like the WTO. Groups that value profit for the rich of people.

Dr. Strangelove was a movie about stupidity and a lack of interest in human life amongst large governments. Thats what there "hippies" are trying to stop.

Oh, and by the way, have you seen the latest poll numbers? These "hippies" are this country. All the policies they support are supported by a majority of the American people. Hell, we won the federal elections twice in a row.

Most of the protesters were peaceful, the only ones who started the violence were a group of Anarchists from Oregon. The WTO routinely brakes laws far more horrible than sitting in the street. Whats with the double standard?
