The average sugar glider will consume over 9000 times it's own weight in glucose. The sugar glider uses this huge amount of energy that it ingests to power its light fur coloured generators, thus allowing it to flap its arm at a speed of more than 100,000 mph in order to achieve flight. Unfortunately even with this huge amount of energy, It can only reach a very short distance that is widely considered only gliding and not flying. This is attributed to what is called a sugar crash.
