Shotokan Gankaku Bunkai Equipo de Italia

En el XL Campeonato de Europa Senior realizado en Tenerife España en 2005,la final de kata varones equipo fué disputada por las selecciones de España e Italia,aqui el equipo italiano capitaneado por Luca Valdesi realiza el kata Gankaku y su respectivo bunkai,con este kata Italia se coronó campeón mundial en el sistema WKF en Tampere Finnlandia en 2006.

@acerwk You know I practice karate and usally fight with one of my friends who is boxer. I often punch him with oi tsuki, and it could be a really powerfull and fast technik you can use in real life. However I agree with you when you say that this bunkai is totaly unrealistic ^^ but sadly it's the way for winning karate competition now : less spirit and more show...

Oustanding discipline and skill shown by these karateka. For all the people making negative comments about the validity of kata bunkai for self defence, these guys would be able to take out most people with their karate. The point is though it is about improving oneself, not being the best fighter. If you want to fight try a combat sport not a true martial art.

@orenciojames Yes but defense against oi/gyaku tsuki as bunkai of kata is tottaly unrealistic and waste of time.nobody will attack you like that in real life.the problem is not the kata but that kind of practice

Remember, it's not the martial art that makes you good, it's actually you, because it would depend on how you apply it. Bunkai shows how each move in a sequence of kata is used in a real fight. We all have our own variations of applying these moves.

And just because martial comes before the word 'art', it doesn't mean that fighting comes first. You have to apply both at the same time.

@orenciojames yes you are right but firts of all is MARTIAL and then art if you know what i mean...and with that kind of bunkai well .....
