It is one of the very few companies in the world that have stood the test of time. From a one-man cobblers' operation in 1894, the Bata Shoe Company has grown to become one of the world's leading shoe manufacturing and retailing companies, with a retail network spanning across 70 countries. NTV's Stephen Kimani had an exclusive opportunity to speak with two of the Bata family members who are carrying the mantle of this company, 116 years on.

You would have to be a complete stuck up or ungrateful pampered bastard not to buy it!!

  • i'll put Bata up against Payless or Walmart footwear any day...

  • Everyone knows Bata shoes suck ass

You would have to be retarded or unemployed to buy these!!

  • All the cool kids rocked Bata at school. It was either that or Mtumba lol. All this time i was thinking it was a Kenyan owned company Silly me!

  • @JohnGitau, Before i could not tell the difference between an American, A Germany and South American like that "Okampo".By listening to the way they speak i can tell where they come from. That is not "Ukabila. I cannot differenciate a Meru, Embu and Gikuyu. My teacher told me the easy way to differenciate the three is listening to the way they use litter "R" and letter "M". God bless that teacher. Thats not Ukabila. that knowledge.

  • @JohnGitau I have noticed that whenever i mention Gikuyu name, every sleeping Gikuyu wakes up. May be their is a disconnect between what i am saying and what you understand. Please teach me something about Gikuyu people instead of acusing me.

  • someone should visit Bata's original factory in the town of Zlin in Czech Republic. The office building is 22 floors and Tomas Bata's office was a huge lift.he could visit all floors by a touch of a button.and by the way, in Czech, Bata is pronounced "Bacha"

  • @MRMUTOONI Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but that doesn't mean you have to force it down our throats. Your opinion is of no relevance in this case; pls keep it to yourself. Nobody wants to know what the kikuyus or kambas like or do...the issue here is BATA...wacha ukabila!
