When you have a smaller project with raised-panel doors, standard panel bits would create panels that look out of scale with the door design. In this clip, you'll discover the value of junior drawer sets in this type of project. A WoodWorkers Guild of America (WWGOA) original video. • For a larger work piece (like a raised panel shutter) - Does it make sense to do a mortise-tenon join for the styles & rails and the cut the narrower panel groove from mortise to mortise?

It looks from these videos that the groove is cut to the full length of the style, and the rails just slide onto the ends.

  • @kgroschopp You can definitely add strength to the door by making full mortise and tenon joints between the rails and stiles, rather than the stub tenons the matched set provides.
