Can't you apply the modifier and make the vertex offset real?

the place where chuck norris was born

OK, YOU get to program the Genesis Device! :)

I know I"m late, but still, you could have an invisible physics mesh for this. Of course, it wouldn't be able to be as high detail as the mountains, but it would still look quite nice.

Sorry just putting my two cents in, correct me if i'm wrong but cant you make the terrain collision bounds property at triangle mesh or convex hull and make it work in a game.
Other than that great job

@WorldInThe Because the entire terrain is 'really' a flat plane, setting the collision bounds has no real effect. All the height change you see is done as a shader on the graphics card.

can you use this terrain in the game engine as well (as solid ground etc.)?
darcchen 1 year ago
@darcchen Not really. The physics engine only sees the terrain as a flat plane. So the illusion of height is destroyed if you try to place any object on the terrain. This will be very nice for an aerial game though, where the terrain is only seen from a distance.

Awesome! Is there volumetrics in there too or is it just the shader?
The3DChris 1 year ago
@The3DChris The volumetric fog is just a height dependent fog.
