Tucson, AZ— For artist Mary Rosas, painting is a way of being -- a time and place where she feels at peace and also where time and space tend to disappear. The images, many of them still landscape, desert icon or contemplative saint, come to her as friends to visit and help her explore an inner world -- a world that leads deep inside herself. This process helps the images form in that place between outside and inside where the paintings emerge and take on a life of their own.

Since this work is hanging during the holiday season, paintings can be taken home as soon as they are purchased. Ms. Rosas will be in attendance during Luminaria Nights in the Porter Hall Patio and will also be in attendance at the Gallery painting on Thurs., Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come by and ask questions of the artist.
