Betta Splendens is the latin species name for them... i never heard of Splenders before :)

Thats not true...well for my betta and tetra because i watch them all the time they are alway sswimming together, and it's a 5 gallon tank, But myabe my betta is diffeerent

Tetras are known fin nippers. That's why it's never recommended to put tetras in with bettas.
