Sporting traditional Scottish military dress with the ancient MacIntyre tartan, the CDF Firefighters Honor Guard Pipes & Drums performs at the 2011 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Bandfest on Thursday, December 30th 2010.
They will be marching down Colorado Blvd. for the first time in the 122nd Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on Saturday, January 1st.
Representing the men and women of CAL FIRE, the second largest all-risk fire department in North America protecting the state of California, this unit has performed at the CAL Fire 100-year anniversary , as well as the National Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Emmitsburg, MD as part of the Honor Guard Combined Band.
The group was created in 1996 with an honor guard and just one bagpiper. In 2004, the band expanded to form the Official Honor Guard Pipes & Drums. Its debut performance was at the State Capital when the department celebrated its 100-year anniversary.
