http://www.cityyear.org/boston - In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of service, eighth-graders representing every city and town in Massachusetts took part in an ambitious youth service day on his birthday this year. Youth ambassadors were selected to participate in Project 351, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick's community service project, based on their strong ethic of service to represent each of the state's 351 cities and towns. Project 351 celebrates the potential of each individual to make a difference - and the transformation achieved when community unites in common purpose. This day of service is designed to inspire, challenge, and motivate our next generation of learners and leaders to give back and make a significant impact on the community. City Year Boston is proud to have partnered with other great organizations, including Boston Cares, Citizen Schools, Cradles to Crayons, Greater Boston Food Bank, Dorchester Boys and Girls Club, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Towers, to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to expand our impact beyond the city by inspiring students from across the state to give back and encourage others to do the same.
