John Coltrane - Out of This World. Live in Seattle, September 1965. 23 minutes approx.

Besides MFT from Live in Japan, this is my favorite Trane record. Hope you like.

  • That's Pharoah Sanders screaming in the middle of this part. He's the kind of person you love or hate; there's no way in between it. I hope you like him just as much as I do.

  • I like listening to Pharoah for about 5 minutes at a time then it starts to get a little boring, but Coltrane's playing is always completely fantastic. I do think that Pharoah Sanders's Karma is one of the best Jazz albums i've ever heard though.

  • I only listen to this piece maybe once every eighteen months or so. It's probably my favorite piece of music and I can hear it in my head anytime I want too. I only listen to it rarely because I want to maintain the intensity. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS FOR OTHERS.

  • SUPREME!!...

  • Incredible, I love this CD. And for the record, I love Pharoah's playing... Sick stuff!

  • @Praguedive Sometimes you can love and hate him in the same song but in this song, Out of This World, he and Coltrane achieve heights of solo and improvisation never seen or even imagined, before or since. I have the CD and listen to it often. Thanks for sharing with others.

  • Thank's a lot !!

    I love U, chap.

  • gotta love da' TRANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I know what you mean. Pharoah's beautiful, honest playing was an important part of what John needed to help him develop and express this great music.

Thanks again for putting this stuff up. As John might say: "You're like another member of the band".
