  • It's funny I've been a MF fan for YEARS since the 90s but have never seen this old opening, but I dreamed that it was like this once. Strange!

  • My compliments....the rarely seen network opening to Mama's Family. (Harvey Korman's intro was deleted, and the opening logo and end of the opening credits were edited to match the syndicated runs in the late 1980s.)

  • It's a shame that WICD switched to ABC in 2005. Sadly, I was 2 years old when they took it off First-Run Syndication, so Twirl and Bosom Buddies I have no recollection of ever seeing

  • what happen to the 2 kids and why did carol leave the show?

  • While the house in later episodes looks better, the older house & neighborhood looks more "real". I live in Missouri & if you drive through Raytown, you will see sights like this one.

  • hey, that tv movie 'twirl' looks good! i never heard of it though.

  • Someone invent a time machine, please!

  • There was at least one time where Mama's Family came on CMT but that time has passed.

  • July 28,1984

  • The WCID-TV ID at 0:12 looks like the 1983 NBC Be There ID.

  • i miss Bosom Buddies

  • Pure gold! It's been years since I've seen either the original intro for BB or Mama's Family (with Alistair Quince). As for NBC in July '84...little could they have known that their fortunes would change for the rest of the century in just a few short weeks with the Fall '84 premiere of "The Cosby Show."
