Classic Game Room HD reviews AIR SEA BATTLE for the Atari 2600 VCS video computer system! This 2-player game is like Combat in some respects, except that instead of driving tanks you're blowing up battleships and bombers! Even though there is a rinky-dink 1-player mode in Air-Sea Battle, this game stands out because of its two player head to head action. There are 27 different game variations in Air Sea Battle and this review shows gameplay and footage of many of them. Air-Sea Battle was released in 1977 for the Atari and uses the joystick controller, although there is a label variation from 1986 which says "use with paddle controllers" and is incorrect, because the game uses joystick controllers for Atari 2600. Shoot airplanes with guided missiles, bomb ships, shoot targets and fire naval defense cannons at frigates and destroyers... it's all in a day's work with Air-Sea Battle for the Atari 2600! Classic Game Room is the ultimate retro reviewer reviewing Atari 2600 games. Target Fun with a Sears label is the same game as Air Sea Battle.

  • The serial number is CW2602.

That means this was the SECOND released game for the Atari. We're talking about very primitive (but fun) game program.

  • There is an Atari 2600 collection available for Xbox and PS2. We reviewed the Xbox version. It is awesome. Get it now, don't wait, run run run!!! -CGRHD

  • I has this game

  • 2:19 I have a copy of Video Checkers on the Atari 2600 that has that same issue. It says to play it with the paddle controllers, but it only works with the joystick controllers.

  • They should make a game where you shoot down zeppelin.

Now those, where very expensive...for the day.

  • the battle thingees look like dicks :P

  • Oh my christ, look at the artwork on the game carts!

  • @johnwx777 Great game! It was also 1 of the 1st games released. I think it was like 2nd or 3rd, w/combat being 1st, & Video Olympics being 2nd/3rd, I remember playing this with my dad & grandfather & grandparents house, when I was like 6 or 7yo. It was so fun. You can't compare modern/vintage games. THIS is all there was then, & you can't miss when you never had. Early Atari gaming, was often literally a "family" gaming experience. Kids/Parents played together. You don't see that today.

  • This was actually the 2nd videogame i've ever played at home (the 1st was Space Invaders for the 2600).Seeing it now it may seem archaic ,but through its simplicity there's still a lot of fun to be had in this one.I remember playing the heck out of it with all its game variations. And the cover for this game rocks.

  • @InecomCompany when i frist read what you said i thought you ment (god sucks) then i realized that im just took a bong hit an im high an can't read up to par when im high.

  • Game #11 was the shiznit!!! Torpedos with guided missiles..I can get the max 99 pts in 90 secs...

  • I own 3 of them. And a good number of other variants.

    :D
