This video contains the cinematics and mission briefings from the game "Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness" (1995), developed by Blizzard Entertainement.

The contents are:
01 - The game's intro cinematic
02 - Orc missions' briefings (14 in total), cinematics and Orc finale (at 01:56)
03 - Human missions' briefings, cinematics and Human finale (at 15:33)
04 - Game credits (with human victory background) (at 28:57)

Note: The order of the missions is that of the buttons in the campaign menu. As with the previous title (Warcraft I: Orcs and Humans), each race has its own storyline, in which it achieves victory. Therefore, there are two possible outcomes, depending on which race you chose to play. The official lore retained parts from both storylines (you can find out more in the official novel "Warcraft: Tides of Darkness").
Also similar to the previous Warcraft game, a lot of information related to the story is presented in the game's manual (info about each faction, about Alliance nations/Horde clans etc.).
This game has been re-released since 1995 as "Warcraft II: Battlenet edition" (1999). This edition contains both the classic Warcraft II and its expansion, as well as many improvements to the game and to online play. This video has been made with Battlenet Edition.

Note 2: This game causes certain bugs when recording with fraps, so I had to improvise in certain places. In the case of the maps at the start of each act, there was also a short music sequence played, for example.

  • what was the track name?

  • @kingsomark Which track do you mean? The intro cinematic one is simply called "Intro" afaik.

  • @GicaPopa I meaan the soundtrack at 0:06

  • @kingsomark Yep, it's called "Intro". You can find the MIDI file around the internet or extract a (shorter) version of the song from the Warcraft III editor.

  • I´m confused in the 1 man and orcs game in the end humans won but this says differently

  • @blackwolfsky I mentioned that in the video info: the first two games (Warcraft I & II) have alternate endings. The official story, however, is that orcs won Warcraft I and humans retreated north.

  • @OneWeirdDude Umm... Gameplay trumps lore... or something...?

  • So the Orcs have ties to basically all the problems of the world...?

  • @MetalRAGE230 It's probably Metzen (jk)

  • In the cinematic prefacing Human Act III, something happens that couldn't in actual gameplay, I think.

  • i would be honoured to serve this guy at a drivethrough just to hear his voice again

  • @Mopehome you have to have a battle.net account and register your serial number in order for the download to become available I think.. That's what I had to do with starcraft. I think the newer edition for Warcraft II is called Battle.net edition. or something.

  • @SilentSkys D: no results on warcraft 2 ..via Battle.net

  • @Mopehome apparently there is a newer version of Warcraft II revamped or something like that.. it has a CD key and you can register it and stuff.. My CD did not have a CD key so I cant just re-download it from the site like I can with Starcraft. If you have a CD key for warcraft II tho I think you can download it from battle.net.
