  • i don't understand why in hell a lot of pianists insist on playing Liszt "presto piu prestissimo possibile" as if they were running away from the devil or affraid of missing a bus or a train! that annoys me so much!!!

BUT his performance has some good points. Sometimes he explores well the dynamics and also makes some interesting mood contrasts.

  • True, the sound quality of this recording is poor. But, you can hear a great hifi recording of the Rigoletto at soundclick(dot)com that captures Sgouros' Steinway perfectly (--> 1989 Sydney Opera House, as encore played to capacity audience)

  • Parody

  • Mstislav Rostropovich on Dimitris Sgouros

  • This is a Paraphrase if you understand what means!!!!!

  • If he had any knowledge of the opera, and how it is sung, he may have played it with the right feeling, intonation, and voicing. He can play very quickly- but there is the difference between great pianists and great musicians. He is a very good pianist. Even with a liszt paraphrase, one must make music.

  • HAHAHAHA that is just the PERFECT tempo definition!!! hahahahahaha

  • He does have an extremme talent but he plays music too damn fast.

  • wonderful performance

sound is affected by the bad acoustic hall

  • It is too fast, he destroys all music.
