Silly Hick Rednecks. Its obvious that the 2nd amendment refers to a militia, meaning a free and well equipped army, not armed citizenry. Next, your "fore fathers" were slave owners who wanted to ward off foreign intervention and keep on owning, abusing, and exploiting human beings. The Brits wanted to abolish slave ownership. By allowing easy access to guns for silly rednecks and horrible slave masters,millions of people suffered lives of humiliating slavery and torture. Don't be proud america..

I would and will join the militia even though im just a teenager but i have seen the goverments mistakes and i may not be much of a patorit but i do have belief within the the militia and wat they can do for this country, i mean this country needs to wake up and see wats going on, also if i had a gun the goverment well just say im a terrorist but i am not, i have a rights to have bear arms and i am not afraid to fight or die in wat i belive in, so i will join and i accept the path i've chosen

Just joining a militia yes and more we need everyone young and old any age race and sex as a vote of power that belives in our America to come on board. A lot of people like Dutch and Green, bring things to this table that are good points. The lacking of bringing people together for the same cause is the only problem. Any American that believes in our rights and freedoms is a enemy to our enemy. People may not be fit for war but, it's amazing how fast they get into shape when the time calls for it. @StatuesBleedingGreen our military can not even defeat the Afgan militias. Russia can not defeat the Chechnya militia.... our standing army was chased out of Viet nam........I would no sooner depend on them to defend my family then I would the cops......I am not hung up on anything. You do not get to make up theories. History proves my point and you choose to just make stuff up. the modern battle space is no longer about attrition......do you even know what that means?

@StatuesBleedingGreen militias or partisans do not fight standing armies. they destroy their will to fight by harassing and killing them a few at a time. Your analogy points out your lack of knowledge. How will China get its military here? If it gets here how will they keep Russia and India from invading China when the military is over here? Establishing a beach head, supplying the force and occupying America would be impossible. They know that and so do we.

@dutchjoens I think you're hung up on how I defined the militia and I guess you're right, the militia is a lot more than what I thought so I apologize. But even so, we don't fight against armies with muskets anymore. China has a 100 billion dollar standing army. Assume they fought us? What would be better for the U.S.? A 100 million dollar militia or a 6 trillion dollar army? I know what you should be saying, which is militia's help prevent domestic corruption.
