Never again to repeat her classic 'bugger me gently!', Lizzie Birdsworth ebbs quietly away from Wentworth General, paroled to live with her long-lost son Arthur and his family.

  • You are right. But who wants to see moustachy old Arthur Charlton leaning over the bed, or watch a video called "Lizzie's penultimate appearance"?

  • u know i dont think Lizzie ever said 'bugger me gently' i saw nearly all her episodes n never heard her say it... i think it was stated in one of the books but was never actually said...but hey im splitting heirs! lol ... this was a nice scene... wish Lizzie had a better send off though

  • You are mistaken; she says "bugger me gently" in response to Bea being allocated a place on the work release program at Andrew Reynolds's factory!

  • @Xihymn He was the Gate Guard when Bea went out on work release and the truck driver that Maxine and Spud were trying to rob just after the fire.

  • @zaniac100 Yes I know, read my last post a couple of weeks ago :)

  • @zaniac100 Yes I know, read my last post a couple of weeks ago :)

  • Yes I know, Val gave 7 weeks notice instead of the usual 8 because of the typo, but Sheila was all for going in the same episode as Val, they were close friends and Sheila did not want to be in Prisoner without her...Lizzie got her release alright, only after having a psycho screw try to kill her and then a massive heart attack..Happy ending indeed :-)

  • @DaveyC95 Apparently a typing error in Val Lehman's contract allowed her to leave with a shorter notice period than was actually intended.

  • @yoohoo81 She says "Bugger me gently" just one time. On one later occasion she says "Bugger me dead!" It wasn't a common phrase for Lizzie, and is not used in real life in Australia.

  • this isnt her last appearance

  • audiocreator talks some shit. Lizzie and Bea were the best in the show.Bea my personal favourite. Val and Sheila actually quit at the same time, but Sheila was coerced into staying a bit longer to write her out properly. The producers were bricking it that the loss of two great characters would ruin the show. It did for me.
