Miura was student of Takosoku University and direct student and kohai of Master Masatoshi Nakayama.
Miura is one of most technical sensei of shotokan karate all over the world.

Typical of the best produced by the JKA, SKI, JKSR etc. These people know of a training discipline few can fathom and they do so for life rather than seasonal or until they see something more flashy. Very few westerners ever reach this level and the so called American versions have no chance at all. Traditional training has no peer be it judo, karate, kendo etc.

I had the distinct honor of attending the ISKF Master Camp this past weekend (June 10th through 12th), and taking a master class with sensei Miura. What an experience. He's in his seventies, he's maybe five foot two, he might weigh 110 soaking wet...and he just owned everyone he faced. He would demonstrate a simple block and combine it with a joint lock, and when he corrected your form by showing you the correct way to do it, his technique was extraordinary. This man is an artist.

i did the ex at 1 02 with the master in a stage training a few years back in Romania ... the old master is still lightning fast and his arms are like baseball bats ... i was very impressed by him and the respect he commanded ... a large gym with 200 strong was dead silent when he spoke

wat the whole piont in karate its both expensive and weird with all the yelling and it takes almost 4 years to master a amazing move and thats over 1000 dollars down the toilet wonder when r people r going to just learn 2 do regular things like regular people sich
