This video demonstrates a one handed controller that provides all of the functionality of the standard PS3 handset, but accessible by persons with only one hand. The one in this video is the first functional prototype. We are planning to manufacture a few pre-production examples for testing.

The design is such that it can be used by left or right handed people, as in the final version, a switch on the back will swap the "shape" buttons from left to right, and the system buttons from right to left. This example is a left-hander, (even though I am using it with my right hand - Doh!).

The bottom joystick is currently the left joystick. I am resting this joystick on the table and as I move the handset around, the joystick moves under it.

At the moment there are 17 3.5mm jack outputs and two 9way "D" type outputs for the analogue joysticks. These will all plug into the LEPMIS PS3-SAP - as they are in this video.

The advantage of this is that you can re-configure all of the switches, and swap the joystick around, as you see fit, to suit your particular needs of game requirements.

If you can't manage all of the functions, leave some of the functions un-plugged and use different switches or joystick for those functions. You could use the tilt sensor joystick SAP-TAS with your head for one of the joystick for example

If you need advice or assistance with aspects of your game access, get in touch, I am sure we can help you.

  • GameBase have done a nice video about its use. See UiwSW26V1lE&feature=player_embedded

  • Do you make anything for xbox?

  • @evan7869

Not directly. we are working on making the Orthros joystick a stand alone item so you don't have to buy the PS3-Switch Access Pod as well. This would take away some of the adaptability for specific button layouts - but it would make it cheaper. We are thinking of going PC and then using a relatively cheap adapter for specific platforms. Ultimately we would like to make them fully stand alone.

  • @LEPMISGeoff Have just bought an XCM XFPS Live - Plu&Play. I will let you know how I get on.

  • @evan7869 The XCM XFPS Live works well with the PS3-SAP. I have been playing HALO on a 360 using the Orthros Joystick. I will post some video ( when I get better at playing it).

  • @evan7869 Hi Evan

Just done an X-Box 360 video running HALO

  • Wow! I want one of these! I only hav 1 arm and hav been trying for years to find a controller that I can use easly, could this be the one?

  • That would be very difficult to control.

  • @d4n2y1

Absolutely - that is what it was initially designed for.

You will also need the PS3-Switch Access Pod, the Orthros plugs into the PS3-SAP, and the PS3-SAP plugs into the PlayStation.

The Orthros is presently just switches and joysticks, so would plug into prety much any disability switch adapter device.

The joysticks however are specific to the PS3-SAP. Although someone skilled in electronics could make use of them, there is no active circuitry in it. (not yet anyway).

  • can u use it with a ps3
