My bird is hatching soon and my parents bird dont feed them.. so Should I handfeed him on the first day?
-
wow, where did you get him?
-
how ofthing do you feed him?
-
You may have better results if you try this.
Place the bird on a soft surface, come over the top with one hand and gently place your thumb on on side of the mandible and the index finger on the other side.( as if your pulling a pickle out of a jar) This will provide you with much more control of the head/beak and allow you to easily guide the tip of the syringe into the beak , minimizing spillage.

Go to your pharmacist & ask for a small syringe (usually free)If you don't have professional bird pablum, use whole grain childrens' pablum. Make it a liquidy porridge that can easily squeeze through the syringe. Make sure it's tepid/hot, NOT hot/hot.
CONGRATS on the new family! How many?
