  • Is this the Army Choir??

  • @gbuscg Thanks. See my new posts. I messed up and didn't use the reply button. It's always good to hear from another Coastie.

  • @gbuscg I agree about Admiral Bender's new uniform.

  • @gbuscg The chorus I learned in 1971 was:

"We're always ready for the call,

We place our trust in Thee.

Through surf and storm and howling gale,

    High shall our purpose be.

    "Semper Paratus" is our guide,

    Our fame, our glory, too.

To fight to save or fight and die!

Aye! Coast Guard, we are for you."

Those are the original lyrics. I guess in the new kinder and gentler world they don't want Coasties singing about dying, but while you have to go out, you don't have to come back.

  • @john75248 Those lyrics come from the original "Semper Paratus",they are mixed up a bit but it is much better than hearing that pansie "This Is the Coast Guard Marching song we sing on land and sea" But then after they made us wear those air force bus driver uniforms and shave I knew the service was heading downhill.Oh yeah they outlawed beards saying you couldn't get a seal on your OBA and gas mask gear,That was a lie,I was #1 OBA man for four years,I had a beard and never had a leak

  • Those aren't the words to Semper Paratus. From the other comments, it sounds like none of the lyrics are correct.

  • @ArkanianMicroStudio true but it only represents the Arty(Field Artillery E.G. The King of Battle), think about it, how ridiculous would the Navy sone be if only the Naval Air Force was sung about?

  • @Jman7133 the caisson song is better, its more traditional , stems to world war I ..than that army goes rolling along crap.

  • @bassgene01 lol nope.

  • Happy Veterans Day to all the veterans out there.
