I have the 2011 ranger diesel and it runs 42 mph
reason i like diesel it holds 9 gallons fuel and that will take you 216 miles add some diesel cans and you can go very long distances in Tn gas is not street legal Diesel is with a few mods. Diesel fuel can be stored for many years and will only loose a little cetane. also it emp resistant.
pulling power or carrying load also is big diff.

@ss454gm I've got a diesel, it does fine for everything I do. I got it mainly for work, but it can do trails just fine. It tops out at 35mph, say what you want but I don't want to go much faster than that in a Ranger. Low gear is fine for about everything I do. Other pluses to the diesel, it's all mechanical, if the fuel pump runs and you can turn the engine over it'll run. The engine has been around for years in other apps at higher power ratings too.

@ss454gm 1 second ago IT does fine. It definitley has a sluggish throttle response and no where nere the top end you might want. I would go for the 800XP over the diesel personally but if you had a lot of diesel equipment on your property then you can make an argument for the Diesel unit.
