Lyrical Fusion Performance @ Super Sassy Fusionistic 6/26/10

In this piece, Aria is exploring the tenets of Transcendantalism, a 19th century movement which posits that divinity is found throughout all of nature and humanity. Here there is no dichotomy between the immanent and the transcendent, as they are both celebrated through a more animistic lens. As the sacred is channeled through all of life, death and eventual rebirth, every moment becomes infused with the divine. To tap into this archetype, and to honor the spirit of this fusion event, Aria has chosen to perform to a traditional piece of religious music in this very secular environment as a way of showcasing the possibilities of fusing the sacred and the secular. She invites the audience to explore their internal responses to this piece and to search for their own unique pathways to the Divine.
